Consider a roof or walls during those chilly months. This will keep the elements out and and the warmth in. On a budget? Try a DIY method using curtains and canopies.

Flexible seating. Choose versatile, movable seating. Bar stools at your countertops for lazy days, a cozy bench for couple’s night, or a round table for intimate conversations with a group of friends.

Lighting. First, install lights over any cooking area (this is more of a safety concern than a design tip!). Dining areas might have adjustable lighting, or string lights to set the mood.
